Happy Endings

I woke up this am and noticed our porch was all wet and considering the beautiful weather we are finally having I knew it didn't rain. SO I opened the front door to "check things out" and I hear a cat meowing very LOUD. Then the cat emerges from behind a bush in our front yard. I recognize this cat from the lost cat sign posted on the mailbox so...I proceed to make myself somewhat decent and I run out to the mailbox to confirm that this in fact "the cat"...it is so I jot down the phone numbers and run in the house and call "Shadows" owner. She was very excited to hear I had found her cat and I was very excited to tell her the great news. So long story short, Shadow is now back home, safe and sound. Why was the porch all wet you ask... well, apparently Shadow had made herself at home on a pillar on our porch and when Vince left for work she "startled" him so Shadow and Vince had a little "fun" with the hose this morning and apparently Shadow won since she was still on the porch and my husband was off at work....Very funny visual to me....Haaaa...I feel good that I was able to get Shadow back home.

Walking for a CURE

I feel so good today. My family (including my husband and 2 wonderful girls), my bestest friends (including their 2 wonderful children), my mom, my sister, my cousin, and possibly my 2 other bestest friends are all going to participate in the Sacramento Komen Race For A Cure. The walk/run (I of course will be walking) is going to be on May 13th and we are all very excited to be participating. This is so close to me considering what I am going through and I am so happy to be able to actually participate in the walk myself. I know it will be a great time and very rewarding. I feel so blessed that my friends and family want to participate and raise money for this wonderful cause. Some may think how unlucky I must be to have been cursed with breast cancer especially at this young age (not that it is ever ok but you know) well I have grown to see things differently these past 8 months. I am so LUCKY to be surrounded by such loving friends and family. I mean what a true blessing in my life. Had this not happened to me it may have taken a lot longer for me to really see and appreciate those wonderful people in my life, I now appreciate them everyday and truly value each and everyone of them.

Easter Eggs etc...

Here are a few pics of Vince and the girls coloring Easter eggs. We had a low key holiday. We visited a local church for the first time and I was quite impressed it was like attending a concert and a play, very nice and uplifting. We had a small Easter get together here at our house and that was about it. Ohhh, not sure if you noticed but our blog has been "madeover". I love the way it turned out, much thanks to my friend for entering me to win a "blog makeover" and to TrollBaby Graphics, she did an awesome job.

Just Hangin Out

Yesterday was such a nice day. My sister, brother in law, and his daughter Nikki came over for a visit. We all just hung out and talked, nothing too elaborate but very nice, relaxing, and a great way to spend my day after chemo. I think this was my best "day after chemo day" yet, must have been the great company. It is so nice to have people around that are positive and upbeat, it really helps with ones psyche. On another note....I am SOOOO happy Chris is still on American Idol, he ROCKS!!! Vince will hate me for that but I had to say it....Haaaaa...

Another Good One

We had another fun weekend. We went to a birthday party on Saturday. The party was at a place where the kids got to pick out a piece of pottery and then paint it. Shelby and Sydney had fun painting their pottery. They will get their works of art back in about a week. I am anxious to see how my little Picaso's "pieces" turn out. After the party we went to my niece's softball game which was lots of fun. Sydney had a blast cheering on the team. The team name is the Super Swampers however, Sydney has renamed the team the Swooper Wampers. Sydney is going to make a great cheerleader someday, providing she can get the name of the team she is cheering for right. After the game, my nephew came back to our house for a sleep over. Shelby and him had a blast playing (as usual). They are such good buddies, it's too cute. All in all, a very nice weekend with family!

Look Alikes

Uncle Junior AKA Vince

Caillou AKA Nichol

Vince's glasses broke a few weeks ago and he has been wearing his prescription safety glasses while his new pair of glasses are on order. Me being the kidding and loving to give my husband a hard time type of wife have found a new name for Vince, Uncle Junior (Uncle June for short). Anyone familiar with the show The Sopranos will know who I am talking about. Last night I was joking around with Vince and once again called him "Uncle June" and he replied, "Ok, Caillou" We cracked up. So I guess he thinks (with my bald head these days) that I am starting to resemble the PBS cartoon character Caillou. Sick humor that we have with one another but we sure got a good laugh, so I guess that's a good thing. They say laughter is really good for a person. That is one thing I do everyday, laugh....

Where's Sydney?

Can you find Sydney in this picture? This pic reminds me of the movie ET when ET was hiding in the closet with all the stuffed animals. So we had another great weekend. Our friends David and Chrissy where here on Saturday and Sunday which (as always) it was so nice to spend time with them. We had lots of laughs. We have some busy weekends coming up. Next weekend we have a birthday party and the following weekend is Easter which we are hosting here and the weekend after that we are going to our friends house for dinner and games. I love being busy.....Ohhhh, and most importantly, Vinny is turning 35 on the 27th.....Wow he's half way through his 30's. Hopefully we don't have a repeat of last years b-day, I don't think he will ever live that one down.

Welcome to our blog. We are an average family of 4 dealing with life's struggles and living one day at a time. Thanks for visiting!
